Question: Hi! I just noticed i have a rather large pimple on my left breast. There are no lumps just a pimple on the bottom of the breast. I also had one on the top that goes away and then comes back. The one on top feels like a bump but on top of the skin. Ive also been getting pimples on my legs as well. Have never had them in these areas. My doctor says im fine. Im 37 ans pretty healthy acdept for pain when i ovulate. Is this ok regarding the pimples on my breasts?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry with pimple over breast.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) According to your given information, pimple (or acne) over left breast is quite possible and it can occur anytime during your reproductive life. If a hair follicle on your breast (basically an apocrine gland) gets clogged with oil, dirt and dead skin cells, it will form a pimple.

As there is NO lump and your doctor already check or examine it, then you have NOTHING to worry much about this. It will goes automatically within a few days.

2) This type of pimple mostly occurs in association with wearing tight breast support, hot and humid weather, using hormonal pills, smoking, right before period. Therefore, you should be more careful about these triggering agents to avoid repeated attack of pimples.

3) TREATMENT: a) Keep the area of your breasts mostly cool and dry as much as possible. Wear a cotton bra when dressed. Try to expose the area to air when you are in private.

b) Wash the area twice a day with a mild cleanser and use anti-bacterial soap to avoid infection. After that, you can apply an acne cream that contains benzoyl peroxide 5% or salicylic acid. Both are available over the counter.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care yourself.
