What Causes Late Periods After Usage Of Plan B In Previous Cycle?

Question: Hello. My SO and I had unprotected sex about a month ago. I took plan B the following day. We had sex multiple times after that through the following week. We used a condom on most occasions but on a couple, we didn't. He didn't ejaculate in me. After taking the plan B (about 3 days later) I had bleeding. It lasted about 3 or 4 days and felt like a normal period. I am now a week late for my period. During the week that I was supposed to have my period, I had period like symptoms but it never started. Now I'm a week late and I'm still experiencing weird symptoms. I have gas and cramping after eating, my breasts are slighty sore. I've take multiple home pregnancy tests, they've all been negative. I'm concerned.
Brief Answer:
PLAN B CAN CAUSE MENSTRUAL DELAY
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Do not be concerned.
With multiple negative pregnancy tests, you are not pregnant.
Do you always have regular cycles ?
The reason for the delay in your cycles is the Plan B.
It can prepone or postpone periods by upto a week or more.
Wait it out, you should have a period in the coming week.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.
