Brief Answer:
GET A WORKUP DONE

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Generally, Primolut N is taken for 5 days and then stopped.
Bleeding occurs within a week.
Primolut N is a progesterone derivative, and it works when the periods are delayed due to mild hormonal disturbance.
Wait for 2 more days, and then consult a gynecologist.
Do you always have regular periods ?
As the pregnancy tests are negative, do not worry about a pregnancy.
Also, consult a gynaecologist to rule out other causes of a missed period - polycystic ovaries, fibroids, cysts, endometrial hyperplasia, hypothyroidism etc.
You would require an internal exam, pelvic ultrasound scan and hormonal assay - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS.
What is your height and weight ?
Did you take any hormonal pills.
Stress, exercise, weight changes, lack of sleep, change in diet, travelling etc can also cause irregular cycles.
All the best

Hello Doctor , yesterday I consulted a gynaecologist she said that I was having pcod and told me to have meprate for 5 days 2 tablets each day so will this help to get my periods? because I already had primolut N also but it dint work

Answered by Dr. Aarti Abraham (10 hours later)
Brief Answer:
YES IT MIGHT WORK IN HIGHER DOSAGE.

Detailed Answer:
PCOD is characterized by such hormonal disturbances and irregular cycles.
Often, higher dosage of progesterone is required for withdrawal bleed.
Did the doctor perform an ultrasound scan ?
You took Meprate for only 3 days, taking it for 5 days might help in inducing a period.
Take care.

No she dint ask for a ultra sound. I am having meprate for 5 days. I hope by this I get my periods stil I am having cramping frequently. she said to go for a thyroid test because my height is 5.2 and weight is 57 so soon I wl go for a thyroid test. I just want to confirm that meprate will help to get my periods or not?

Answered by Dr. Aarti Abraham (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
IT MIGHT WORK

Detailed Answer:
That can be confirmed by scanning and checking the status of the lining of the uterus.
I would ask you to go for that.
If that is not possible, you can go for a trial of Meprate, extended 5 days course might work.
Take care.
