What Causes Left Sided Abdominal Pain?

Question: I am experiencing pain in my abdomen on left side. Seems to be a gas problem. I am facing this problem since yesterday. Can you please suggest some treatment for this?
Brief Answer:
looks like gastritis
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing to HealthcareMagic.
As per your symptoms, you seem to be having gastritis (acidity). And for that i would suggest that you start on a ppi tablet like pantaprazole or omeprazole, on empty stomach, initiall twice a day for a few days, then you may make it once a day.
These are easily available over the counter in XXXXXXX
Also avoid tea, coffee, soft drinks and spicy foods, as they will make your condition worse.
Hope, i have been helpful.
Get well soon.

I hope it is not Stones problem. Never experienced this problem, so don't know about it's symptoms. But, it pains a lot
Brief Answer:
get an ultrasound then
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Stones, causing pain abdomen with gas, are usually gall stones, and in that case the pain is on the right side of the abdomen.
Kidney stones, usually don't cause gas problems, they usually are associated with burning sensation during urination and/or blood in urine.
If still in doubt, you may get an ultrasound of your abdomen, to rule out presence of any stones.
Or you may take the ppi for a day or two to see if it relieves the pain. If it does, continue it for a couple of weeks, if it dosen't then you can get a scan.
