Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms don't seem to be related to any cardiac disorder (including myocardial ischemia).

Is the pain in your chest modulated by body movements or respiration?

The fact that it is tender to touch, indicates a musculo skeletal pain, probably inflammation.

What do you mean when saying that your left arm tends to fall asleep? Are you able to command it normally?

This could be related to a pinched nerve, which travels through the arm, or a cervical disk problem.

What are your blood pressure values?

The whole tingling in your body could be explained by changes in blood pressure.

Anxiety should also be taken into consideration as a possible cause of all your symptomatology.

Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical examination and some tests:

-a resting ECG
-a chest X ray study
-cervical spine X ray study, to exclude a possible slipped disk, which could lead to numbness in the left arm and body tingling.
- blood lab tests (complete blood count, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function test, blood fasting glucose, PCR, sedimentation rate).

I would advise you to monitor also your blood pressure and heart rate frequently during the day and refer them to your doctor.

You should discuss with him on the above issues.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions whenever you need!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

thanks. I have had anxiety issues in the past a long time ago. symptoms seemed to be different. I took a xanax and pain was still there. would taking more motrin help the inflammation? I'm on blood pressure medicine. last I took pressure it was 134/89.

Brief Answer:
Motrin could be helpful in your clinical situation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Your blood pressure seems to be within the normal ranges.

Inflammation could possibly cause many of these symptoms. Ibuprofen (motrin) could be helpful if taken three times daily. But you should be careful and closely monitor blood pressure, as motrin can cause slight elevations in blood pressure.

If the pain persists, I would recommend consulting with your doctor and perform the tests I mentioned before.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri

Answered by Dr. Ilir Sharka (9 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
It is safe taking both motrin and xanax together

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

It is safe to take xanax and motrin together. There are no interactions between these drugs.

I would recommend taking 0.25 mg of Xanax first, and then other 0.25mg if no improvement.

Regarding ibuprofen (motrin), I would recommend taking 400 mg three times daily.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings!
