What Causes Left-sided Popping Sensation In Throat While Swallowing?
Question: For the last couple of months, I have noticed a popping sensation (feels like a gland moving) to the left side/top of my throat under my chin when I swallow. The only thing I can think it could be related to is allergies. My allergies aren't too bad, but I have felt more congested the last couple of months. The popping seems to come and go and I notice it way more when I am just swallowing my saliva or if I'm relaxed when swallowing. I haven't had a fever, sore throat or anything like that associated with it. Any idea what this could be?
Brief Answer:
It could be nodule in the Thyroid
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Commonest swelling in the Neck which moves in relation to swallowing is Thyroid.A nodule in the Thyroid will move when you swallow .
In my opinion, you should get an Ultrasound of the Neck.If any swelling is seen, then the exact nature of the swelling should be diagnosed with FNAC(Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology).FNAC will confirm whether it is Thyroid nodule or Lymphnode or Cyst.
It looks like a benign swelling.
hope i answered your query. If you have any questions or if you come with reports,i will clarify further.
Wish you good health
