default
Posted on Fri, 15 Sep 2017
Question: Hello,
For the past few months
I get occasional slight to moderate leg numbness while lying in bed.
What has me very concerned is a fatiguing numbness when I ride my mountain bike. It's not occasional but constant. These episodes are foot extending into lower leg ONLY.......Any ideas?
Thanks! XXXXXXX ( YYYY@YYYY )

Brief Answer:
Arthritis of the spine causing Lumbar canal stenosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

It appears that you could be suffering from lumbar canal stenosis or compression of the nerve roots in the spine due to arthritis. This causes the symptoms that you have mentioned.

Avoid bending backwards or lifting weights. Apply hot packs to the affected region on the lower back.

Do get an Xray and MRI of the lumbosacral spine to confirm after which the specific treatment can be started.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,
