What Causes Leg Pain After Vaccination Shot In An Infant?

Local hot water fomentation will be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
At 6 weeks for 42/45 days vaccination against following disease are recommended
1. Polio
2. Diptheria
3. Pertussis
4. Tetanus
5. Human Influenza B
6. Hepatitis B
Penta vaccine is for 5 of these disease which include Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Human influenza B and Hepatitis B . I hope Oral Polio drops were also administered . If that has been given no other vaccination are needed.
Pneumococcal and Rota Virus vaccine are optional vaccine usually not available in government hospital.
Pain and fever are quite common after the vaccine. Crocin drops and local application of hot water fomentation will be helpful.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
Best regards

I recommend hot water fomentation
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
In my clinical practise and including my own daughter I have used hot water fomentation and is indeed very helpful.
Painless vaccine is only available for Pertussis (it's combination vaccine ). The brand name by which us available is Pentaxim. It consist of following
1. Diptheria
2. Acellular Pertussis
3. Polio
4. Tetanus
5. Human Influenza B
The differnce is it contains component of Pertussis bacteria without cell wall (hence known as acellular ). It causes less inflammation, but it's not completely painless .
I prefer the cellular component vaccine ( Easy 5 or Pentavac ) as available . So follow the immunisation which has already been started .
Take care
Best regards
Dr Deepak
