What Causes Light Brown Vaginal Spotting During 10th Week Of Pregnancy?

Question: Dear Doctor
My wife is almost 10+ weeks pregnant. Pregnancy was going smoothly until 2 days back there was some light brown white-ish spotting in the pad. Followed by some brownish clot discharge from the vagina. We went straight to the ER where the tests and ultrasounds were performed and baby was normal moving and having a good heartbeat. Cervix was also closed and ultrasound was normal. The doctor just incresed the dosage of duphaston and gave one vaginal progestrone 100 mg through the vagina. I am attaching the USG scan for the same. Could you please advice the causes for this incidence. One of my friends told me that browish discharge and some clots can be ejected by body as remnants of last period as the sac grows and this is normal. There is no pain or cramping. Also the morning sickness is in full swing with multiple vomiting episodes per day. This is our first pregnancy and we were scared
She is on 400 mcg Folic Acid, 10 mg Duphaston Daily for 3 times and 100 mg Vaginal progesterone(for this week)

Hello.
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Please upload the ultrasound scan report, I not just the images.
If the scan is normal, do not worry.
Some women experience spotting as dead space between uterus and the baby closes down.
However she should take due precautions.
Avoid sex , exertion, travelling, bending, stretching, physical or mental stress. Have scan after two weeks.
Get all routine blood tests done.
Continue medicines as advised.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care

Thanks Dr. We were not given a detailed ultrasound report from the hospital. We were told baby is OK. Has a healthy heartbeat. Sack is OK and so is cervix.
We have avoided sex for whole first trimester, also didn't travel or exert. There is minimal bending at home and no physical stress. Some mood swings and crying due to hormonal changes , not sure if i can classify them as mental stress.
One of my friends told me that browish discharge and some clots can be ejected by body as remnants of last period as the sac grows and this is normal. Can that be the case ?
Also it has stopped after 1.5 days and 2 occurences. It hasnt happened till now again.
My question also is , in case this is a normal behavior of body getting rid of old uterine clots , are we taking more progesterone than normal and will it affect in any way.
Thanks very much Dr !
