What Causes Light Colored Stools?

Question: For the past two months my stools have been a little lighter than normal.
I recently had gallbladder pain so had ultrasound to check.
I have two gallbladder polyips that are less than 2mms that have been monitored for a few years and no changes. ALso a mildly fatter liver. Dr seemed happy with report and no further action required.
Should i request a stool test?

Brief Answer:
Information
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Light colored stools (clay or XXXXXXX or white color) mean that the pigments from the bile aren't getting into and coloring the stool. It sometimes also goes with a darker colored urine.
Clay colored stools are usually due to some obstruction in the outflow of the gall bladder. The polyps that you described are small, but that might be the cause of the light colored stools.
You can ask the radiologist who read the ultrasound whether it looks like the two polyps may be causing some obstruction. This would be based on the location of the polyps in the gall bladder.
