What Causes Light-headed Feeling, Anxiety And Nausea After A Cortisone Injection?

Question: Hello. I had a cortisone injection in my hip for sinus inflammation 6 days ago. Ever since I received the injection, I have felt light-headed, anxious, panicky, nauseous, have stomach pain, and just not feeling like "myself". I am normally a calm, laid back person, but this stuff has made me feel awful, psychologically AND physically. My doctor just said it was a 'steroid' to take down inflammation in my sinus cavities, but didn't tell me the dosage or the name of the medication. I have had several cortisone shots in the past for sinusitis and they never affected me like this. Now my question: how long do the adverse effects last? When will this stuff leave my system? Thanks in advance for any help! : )
Brief Answer:
Around 2 weeks
Detailed Answer:
hi and welcome.
Well, the exact periods of excretion depends on dosage and your weight but generally, standard ampules will stay in system for up to 3 weeks but after 7-10 days its effect is significantly decreased and side effects should not be felt after this period. if it still continues then you should find another possible cause of your symptoms. wish you good health. Regards
