What Causes Lightheadedness And Violent Shaking While Suffering From High Blood Pressure?

Question: Hello,
I am a 35 year old female.
Suddenly back in September I started having strange symptoms. One night I woke up about 1 hour after going to bed and was feeling light headed and started shaking vigoursly. I measured my BP and it was quite high, about 157 /95. I couldn’t stop shaking. It went away after about one hour and eventually managed to fell asleep.
I thought it was just a one off strange episode. A few days later I had the same thing happening again but this time it lasted for a few nights , one after the other.
At the same time I started to experience some tremors or vibrations throughtout my body even during the day. They can’t be seen but I feel them every where. Even my tongue was shaking. I feel them in my arms, chest, back , legs. Since then I have them almost all the time. I have a few days when I’m fine and I’m hoping they are going away but then suddenly they are back. It’s as if my muscles or nerves are vibrating all over my body.
I can feel them when I move and when I rest.
Lately I started to not be able to sleep as well. I sleep for a little while and then suddenly I wake up and can’t get back to sleep for a few hours. I had a few more episodes when I wake up at night shaking with high BP.
I am starting to have moments when I’m feeling a bit depressed as well.
My doctor had my blood work done in September and everything was fine. I am waiting for an appointment with the neurologist in January, but I would like some advice on what can this be as I am getting really worried now and this waiting is killing me.
I am very frustrated as I’ve always been a very good sleeper and these episodes have suddenly come on and I don’t know what they mean.
I would like to mention just in case there is any relation, that occasionally I get a bit of lower back pain and I experience some pain at the back of my thighs when I sit down. I was told by a physiotherapist that is not sciatica but the sciatic nerve is irritated. This pain started to happen around the same time I started to feel the tremors.
Thank you!

Hello,
Thank you very much for your reply. My BP is normal in general. The only time it goes up is during these vigorous tremors. It is possible that the BP can cause big tremors? I have BP monitor at home so I check it regularly and in general is fine. What can cause these permanent vibrations that I feel in body? My BP is normal at the time and they last for days.
Thank you.

hello,
Thank you for your reply.
To answer your questions I do not drink any alcohol at all, all the thyroid blood results are normal, never had a problem and do not suffer from anxiety.
I am not taking any medicines at all, just some herbal supplements like Echinacea or passion flower to try and help with sleep at the moment.
I've always been a good sleeper and I find myself in a strange situation where I am not getting proper sleep.
The only condition that I have is PCOS but I am not overweight. Can excessive adrenaline or cortisol production cause any of these symptoms?
Thank you.

Neurological examination/Mental relaxation exercises.

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow up and providing further details.
I wish I could have made an interpretation over here but I am afraid to say that your clinical history does not lead anywhere diagnostically. It is not indicative of a definite disease entity.I am of the opinion that physical examination by a neurologist, may pave a way forward.
Sciatic nerve irritation can't result in these symptoms.
Meanwhile, not to miss on anxiety part,I would suggest you to start doing regular mental relaxation exercises like meditation. It may turn out to be helpful.
If you have some further questions to ask,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
