What Causes Lightheadedness, Dizziness And Blurred Vision When Diagnosed With Diabetes?
Discussion follows
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Diabetes is due to inability of his body to utilize the blood sugar to provide energy. His symptoms of light headness , dizziness and blurred vision may be related to uncontrolled blood sugar. This can also occur due vasculopathy which can occur due to complications of high blood sugar or cholesterol. Has reducing his statin made any difference in his symptoms?
Please let me know his current fasting and 2 hours post lunch blood sugar.
Glucophage enables his body to utilize the blood sugar for energy, thereby decreasing his elevated blood sugar. It is important that he eats low GI low carb foods, exercise at least 30 minutes a day and practice stress relief in addition to taking Glucophage regularly.

Detailed Answer:
You can get blood sugar levels done in any lab or better would be to get a glucometer and glucose strips and test the sugar yourself. Triglycerides may be elevated if the blood sugar is elevated or it can be part of the lipid abnormalities your husband has.
If it has not been done, you can request his doctor for a HbA1c test which is related to his average blood sugar over the past 3 months.
I have special interest in management of diabetes and would be happy to empower your husband to manage his diabetes well.
Take care
