What Causes Lightheadedness, Heart Palpitations And Headache While On Cozaar, Brilinta And Coreg?
I would explain as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that your current complaints may be a consequence of each of your actual drugs, but most frequent are due to Brilinta and Coreg.
So, when using Brilinta headache may occur in up to 6.5% of patients, dizziness 4.5%, atrial fibrillation (palpitation) 4.2%.
During treatment with Coreg adverse effects may occur too: dizziness in up to 32%, headache 8%, etc.
As you changed to Plavix, headache may occur in up to 7-8% of patients, dizziness 6%.
So, as you see, almost each drug may exert certain adverse effects.
But before concluding for such an alternative, it is important to closely monitor blood pressure values and heart rhythm, because a highly average uncontrolled blood pressure may also lead to similar symptomatology. In such case the above drugs generally are not to be blamed.
If heart palpitations are frequent, I recommend performing an ambulatory 24 to 48 hour ECG monitoring to exclude any possible arrhythmic events, such as atrial fibrillation, etc.
You need to discuss with your attending physician on the above mentioned issues.
Hope to have been helpful to you!
In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
