What Causes Lightheadedness When I Bend Over?
I'm not feeling anxious or overwhelmed. The only nutritional change I have made is adding 250mg of magneseum at night to help my muscles relax.
looks cervical spondylosis- avoid neck movements
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms are suggestive of cervical spondylosis. You should get an X-Ray neck (Ap and Lateral view). Also get serum calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium and Vit D levels. These investigations will help a lot in determining the level of problem. The treatment will depend on the results of the tests. You should see a GP or an orthopedecian.
The usual and most effective preventive measure to help your self apart from meds is -
1. avoid using big pillows. You might just fold a bedsheet and use it as a pillow.
2. donot bend neck at all. Donot turn your neck sideways but turn whole body compeltely if you have to look back or side ways.
3. do neck exercises three times a day.
All these will take care of dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, and some anxiety which is there.
The componenet of disturbed sleep can be managed by zolpidem 10mg at night for some days.
In extreme cases one may have to wear neck collar for sometime to give rest to nerves.
Drugs like cinnarazine and dimenhydrinate help in handling dizziness and lightheadedness.
Hope you get well soon.
Wish you good health.
