What Causes Loos Of Appetite, Laziness And Colic Post Intake Of Delcon Plus?

Question: My child is 2.5 years old. He was having fever . I gave him 10 ml of fepanil 250, one in morning and another in night for 3 days. He also had cold so i also gave 10 ml of delcon plus. But the situation continued so i tool him to doctor. I didnt tell the dosage level of medicines i gave to the doctor. When the doctor checked there was no fever. So he gave medicines for cold and podox antibiotic. My child has not been eating for more than a week and always crying and less active. Is this because of over dosage i gave of fepanil and delcon plus? I am very scared. Please help. He is seens very mentally upset

Can understand your concerns.

Paracetamol is given at dosage of 15 mg/kg. Fepanil 250 has 250 mg of paracetamol in 5 ml. Delcon plus also has paracetamol 125 mg in 5 ml. So, it is very clear that you have given overdose of paracetamol.

Paracetamol toxicity usually affects liver and it occurs when large doses are taken.

Decreased activity and less intake of food are not related to paracetamol poisoning.

I suggest you to do liver function test in child and continue to give drugs prescribed by doctor.
