Brief Answer:
No need to give cefolac. Only ors and zinc

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Loose stools at this age is because of viral infection usually.
It may take a week or 10 days to settle.
I usually prescribe oral rehydration solution like electral and zinc.
These are the recommended medicines at this age for diarrhoea.
If not improving it is better to consult your doctor again and get his motions tested for reducing substances.
If reducing substances are positive in stools he may need elimination of milk.
Lactose free formula like isomil may be required in that case to control loose stools.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
