What Causes Loose Motions, Body Pains And Severe Back Pain?
Question: from past 3-4 months my father was suffering from dry cough and irritable throat and was getting feverish frequently even after consultation and medication from a local doctor who mostly prescribed azithromycin, ecobion and cough syrup. I consulted Dr. Duggal here on healthcare magic and he suggested a chest scan. Though the scan report was normal but on observing the film the local doctor there suggested there was a mild bronchial infection and prescribed following medicines -
1) DOXY 1 L DR FORTE 1X2X15 DAYS
2) UNICARBOZAN FORTE 1X2X15 DAYS
3) MONTEK AB 1X1X15 DAYS
4) COBADEX FORTE 1X1X15 DAYS
After 2 days of taking these medicines he started having loose motion and had sever back pain and moderate body pain with slight feverish feeling. He is feeling kind of weak after that and has not resumed the medicine yet.
Could please verify that the prescribed medication is correct and the response that his body gave is expected or not. Also what should be done further.
Brief Answer:
Loose motion may be due to Doxycyclin
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that the medicine given by the earlier doctor is better than this.
As you mentioned that your father is suffering from the loose motion, it may be due to the side effect of the doxycyclin antibiotic.
Weakness and body pain may be due to the loose motion.
According to me prescribed medicine is not so much bad but change the antibiotic i.e. Doxycyclin for the higher group after throat swab - culture and antibiotic sensitivity.
If you have any doubt, I will be available for your query.
Wish you good health
