Question: I would like to know how a person can lose half of their blood platelets and not know it.

Brief Answer: AS BELOW Detailed Answer: Hello Yes its very much possible. Normal platelet counts range from 150,000 to 400,000 per microliter (or 150 - 400 x 109 per liter). As you can see, you can easily lose half and still be in the normal range. Take care.
