Brief Answer:
Most probably depression

Detailed Answer:
hello

thank you for getting back with the answers. His signs and symptoms are suggesting depression. There could be multiple causes for it. I would suggest you to take him to a psychiatrist because the medication prescribed for it require prescription. After performing detailed examination doctor will prescribe him anti-depressive medications like SSRIs or TCA. He will also give some behavioral therapies. After start of medication you will observe dramatic improvement in his health. Meanwhile you as a friend need to take care. Try to be with him and share his thoughts. This will help in improving his health as well. suggest him to go out for walk in the evening for 30-45 mins. Change in environment will make him fresh.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
