What Causes Loss Of Movement In Index Finger And Burning Pain In Thumb?

The next operation was done on 15th may for grafting my right arm to heal the wound. The left thigh was the donor part for skin grafting.
I was discharged on 24th May from the hospital and recalled many times in OPD. I was still left with fixator. The orthopedics Dr. told me on 16th XXXXXXX the callus is developingas seen in X-Ray. So no need to place plates and further operation. My question is- why the half part of thumb is in burning position and trigger finger is not bending upto the palm.
Due to nerve injury.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The loss of movement in the index finger and the burning pain in the thumb is due to nerve injury at the time of fracture. It seems to be a minor injury as there is no major loss of sensation.
It is good that a callus is seen at the fracture site. There is no need of further surgery. The external fixator will also be removed in next few weeks.
For the nerve injury you can start taking methylcobalamin supplements after consulting your orthopedician. This minor injury will improve in next few weeks.
I hope this answers your query.
