Question : Was suddenly sick a week ago with stomach flu or food poisoning symptoms. It lasted about 4 hrs but still feel lousy and have no appetite. When I do eat I feel full very quickly and things don't taste like they used to.
I also feel irritation or pressure in my chest. I have reflux and am on Nexium for a very long time. Last Endoscopy was summer of 2013, all normal.

                                    Brief Answer:
Try prokinetics.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Welcome to HCM.
Your symptoms of distaste and fullness are common after food poisoning and may last for some days, especially because you have acid reflux and are already on antacids (Nexium).
Antacids reduce your gut's natural immune defense and can delay the recovery. All you need is a prokinetic drug like domperidone, available over the counter or you can take it with doctor prescription. You may take it thrice a day for 5 days or till you feel comfortable.
You will soon see improvement.
Hope this will help.
Please feel free to post any further queries.

                                    Brief Answer:
continue Nexium
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You should continue Nexium as re bounced acid load due to withdrawal may further flare up your symptoms. It is good to avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, spicy food and carbonated drinks for a short while, till your symptoms resolve.
All the best.
