What Causes Low HCG During Pregnancy?
Question: I recently went for a blood test suggested by my midwife and she said the hcg showen in my blood was low is that possible if the last time I had sexual intercourse was in November last year and if I am feeling kicking in my stomach ?

cycles are regular , my last period was a week before I had sexual intercourse. Home pregnancy test was done 5 weeks ago when I started feeling kocks other than that no other symptom I put it past me cos I thought it was apart of gas. The midwife didnt give me any further of the hcg just said it was low and it just shows I am pregnant. Blood test was just done 2 days ago. And nope I had no period after sexual intercourse in November.

In my opinion as the intercourse was done one week before the period that period is considered safe period only.
But as you are saying the test is positive but hcg is low it might be early to see normal hcg level.
I suggest you to repeat the test after a week or 10 days for accurate results.
Urine pregnancy test also gives accurate results if done after a week of missed period.
The symptoms of pregnancy like nausea,vomitings, increased urination,sore breasts appear 2 weeks after missed period ie.,6 weeks.
The fetal kicking is seen routinely at 20 weeks.
So dont worry.Relax.
