What Causes Low WBC Count?

Hi I would recommend the following.
Detailed Answer:
Hi I did review your mother's mam.
The WBC count is definitely low in last report but it has not fallen down very low and the differential count seems to be fine so i am not worried.
The hemoglobin is low on 2 accounts so I would recommend a peripheral blood finger prick smear analysis and a reticulocyte count to see the type of anemia.
Morever ESR is elevated, indicative of some recent infection or a chronic inflammation.I believe recent pneumonia episode can cause this problem.
So all in all I would not worry right now about Wbc. a repeat blood count after 1 week and also a peripheral blood finger prick smear examination and RBC and WBC morphology to see the type of anemia with a reticulocyte count.
I hope this helps
wish you all the best.
Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns,
Sincerely
Dr Parth Desai.
