It is low? Does this indicate a problem?
Brief Answer:
Hello
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Good day.
Since anhydroglucitol was done, i presume you have type 2 diabetes. This is a marker of glycemic variabiity. The levels go down when you have elevated blood glucose.
Your levels are sligtly low indicating that your glucose level are slightly on the higher side especially after meals. Check your blood glucose ( by a glucometer) 2 hours after your meals at home.
Yours is a slightly low value, not terribly low. Nothing to worry. All you have to do is take measures to improve sugar control. Reduce simple sugars in food and increase vegetables in diet

I do not have diabetes. Not that I know of. Do I have diabetes?
Brief Answer:
Hi
Detailed Answer:
MAy i ask you why was this test done in you ?
This test is just gaining popularity and still it is used in reaserch settings and big tertiary hospitals in special cases to find out glycemic variability. What made your doctor to do this test ?.
anhydroglucitol level reduces once the blood sugar values are elevated. Hence the lower the value, the higher the chances of having a rise in blood glucose. However, it is not a tool to diagnose diabetes.
Since you do not have an established diabetes, i recommend a fasting blood glucose test and an HbA1c. These tests are more reliable in diagnosing diabetes.
