What Causes Low Body Temperature In Women?
Question: I usually have a regular temp reading of 96 ° - 96.8 ° F. When I begin to feel sick, it's usually 98.6 ° F. I'm only 22 yrs old. Is such a low core temp a bad thing?
Brief Answer:
in some cases
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Well, this is low body temperature but in some people, especially women, it isnt indicating any disorder if you dont have associated symptoms. However if there is lower heart beat, weight gain, weakness or loss of concentration then it may indicate certain disorders, mainly hormonal imbalance and you should check your thyroid hormons, cortisol and estrogens first after visiting your physician for a detailed physical evaluation.
Wish you good health.
Regards.

other than my blood pressure normally ranging between 96/55-100/65 I don't think have any other issues. But it's kind of a pain when you go to the ER and they say there's nothing wrong because my temp is 99 and BP is 123/85. What can I do to help myself in that situation?
Brief Answer:
ask for more detailed test
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
YOu should insist on more detailed tests to check your hormones, circulation function and function of hipotalamus. I dont think you should be concerned at this point. It is commonly seen to have lower body temp with no obvious cause,
