What Causes Low Heart Rate?
find the answer below
Detailed Answer:
some individuals do have low heart rate physiologically, i.e less than 71 beats/min.
It should not be cause for concern unless it is interfering with activities like brisk walking, playing outdoor games or any other physical activity that requires heart to pump blood at a hiher rates.Since you have been involved in regular physical activity without any fatigue or breathlessness, there is no need to worry. Relax and move ahead as your heart is responding well at the time of crisis and when needed, due to physiological reasoons like low basal metabolic rate, heart rate might have been on a lower side.

How can i increase my basal metabolic rate? I am worried that the average calories i burn in a day is around 1500 which could be why I put on weight easily?. .Also, could restless/insufficient sleep be the cause of a slow heart rate?

Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome back,
Basal metabolic rate can be incresed by increasing muscle mass, so that more energy is required to maintain physiological functions and thus increase in heart rate. So you can train yourself in muscle strengthening and muscle building exercises in gym along with diet containing high protein content like egg whites, pulses, soya, chicken, fish etc.
Yes low BMI could be the reason you might have gained weight easily.
No insufficient sleep doesn't cause slow heart rate.
However I ewcommend you tp get your thyroid profile done.. I mean undergo lab tests to check for thyroid function and get back to me.
Hope this clarifies your doubts. Revert back to me if you have follow up queries.
