What Causes Low Lying Left Testicle Post Orchiopexy Surgery?

Question: My son had an orchiopexy for an undescended left testicle two days ago. This evening his left testicle is now at least one centimeter lower than the other. Not swollen. Surgeon is gone for the weekend. Is this normal?
Brief Answer:
It is normal. No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Please do not worry. Orchidopexy is a surgery to move the undescended testicle down to its proper place in the scrotum. But the gubernaculum i.e. the connecting structure might be tight and it is absolutely normal for the testis to remain retracted slightly. I would not worry about it.
