What Causes Low Sex Drive After Having Finasteride?

Question: I am taking finasteride 1mg. One of the side effects can be lack of sex drive or impudence. I have been taking it a little over a month and only recently have I noticed that im having difficulties getting an erection. Does it take a while for the side effects to kick in so to speak? And if so if I stop taking this will I resume getting normal erections and how long would this take ?

Taking anti androgen drugs like low dose (1mg) finastride wont results in impotence or decreased sex drive in a short span of usage ( month or two).

So no need to stop the drugs as results have shown usage of finastride 10mg over a period of years will end up in erectile dysfunctions.

I came to know that you are under severe stress from your history .Psychogenic impotence (stress related) is the most common cause accounting for 90% of the overall impotence without any organic involvement.

So, I advise you to have sex in calm and peaceful mind without any worries. This will automatically regains your sex drive as well as your erection.

Try to meditate and practise yoga to get relieved of stress and to have peaceful mind.

If you still find difficulty, visiting a nearby psychologist is advised for psychotherapies to overcome stress.

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for that, I do feel much better knowing this. I wont be having sex because Im hoping to somehow get back with her. On a side bar question. When I am with her I am very hard. Yes on occasion I so take Viagra. However when she kisses me It makes me extremely ridged. We can just kiss for 30 minutes at a time with nothing else. Is there something very personal or emotional about kissing that makes a man more excited? I ask this because its been a while since I have been with her. I'm ashamed to say that I do have a friend with benefits (never would or did go to her while in this relationship) and since it has been a while she tried to help me out orally. I couldn't even get erect. What could it have been?

So doing sexual role plays like kissing and touching each other personal parts increase the sexual excitation by releasing hormones which helps to attain orgasm.
