What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain Post Intercourse?

Question: Hi! me and my boyfriend had sex sunday, but not for the first time. since then I've been having lower abdomen pain and back aches and it feels like pressure in my abdomen. we used a condom, and he didn't get off inside me. so I know I'm not pregnant. plus we checked the condoms afterwards to make sure they weren't busted. what's causing this?
Brief Answer:
urine infection to be ruled out
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.
Such symptoms are most commonly caused by an urinary tract infection, especially if it is associated with features like nausea, increased frequency of urination or burning sensation on urination etc. After confirming the diagnosis, this can be treated with antibiotics and analgesics for a few days.An abdominal examination and urine routine will sort out the issue. Your doctor will guide you.
If you have missed your period, just do a UPT also.
Meanwhile, take simple analgesics like paracetamol and drink plenty of oral fluids.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing for a faster cure.
Thank you.

is there anything else it may be? I don't think I have a UTI because I've had those before and it didn't feel like this. could he just have cause inflammation where we used a different position?
Brief Answer:
Unlikely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Sorry for the delay.
Such inflammation may cause local pain and discharge;abdominal and back pain are unlikely due to this.
Also,UTI may not have similar presenting features always.Symptoms may vary with severity and extent of infection.
Anyhow, pelvic inflammation also is a possibility.
So kindly see your doctor without delay for proper evaluation and management accordingly. After physical examination, you may be asked for blood routine, urine routine, USG abdomen etc.
Hope you got cleared now.
Wishing for a faster and complete cure.
Thank you.
