It could be a muscular spasm or strain that will subside by relaxation and massaging by topical gels else you may have a sort of infection that needs to be checked up .

Hi I am Dr Ahmed Aly
Thanks for using HealthcareMagic site ,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..
Actually i do not want you to worry i think it could be a muscular spasm due to over exertion , running , abdomen crunches which will subside by relaxation , hot massages with topical gels , muscle relaxants , B12 vitamin supplements .
If that pain was not due to hyperactivity and due to a visceral origin it may refer to the colon or appendicitis , in that case you may need to use anti spasmodic drugs , high fluid intake , avoid heavy high cholesterol meals , use more vegetation and salads , hot fluids .
If your pain persists i recommend urine , stool analysis and U/S abdomen and pelvis to rule out appendix inflammation or colon masses and visit your physician for proper evaluation and management to prevent further complications .
In my opinion a healthy physically active 27 year old male would not have any serious problems so follow instructions and you will feel fine , if no progression and your pain increases you will need to have some laboratory investigations and a physical check up .

Muscular spasm at such areas may take from 3 to 10 days with relaxations
Detailed Answer:
Muscular spasm at such areas may take from 3 to 10 days with relaxations and proper gentle massaging with topical gels and a muscle relaxant if needed .
If you have a kind of visceral inflammation if nothing serious with proper treatments it will not take more than a week with proper medications and antibiotics but you have to diagnose it first .
