Brief Answer: can be endometriosis Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. Low back ache around the time to period is a very classical symptom of endometriosis, though not very specific of it. Also pain in right lower side can be attributed to it. In my opinion you need to get an ultrasound of your abdomen and pelvis. This will give a good picture of your uterus, the tubes and ovaries. Also it will help rule out other causes of pain in right lower abdomen like appendix and ureteric stone. Menopause at this age is a bit rare but not unheard of. Get the usg and tell me the report. As further management will depend on it. Regards Dr. Ashish Verma
