My lower back severely hurts, headache (took 2 Midol but no change), back of my neck hurts and feels warm, nausea, feel like a fever coming on, and it hurts to lie on my back so laying on my side.

I also feel very exhausted and winded. It seems hard to take a breath at times.

Brief Answer:
Seems a viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.

I have gone through your question in detail and understand your concern.

From the symptoms that you have mentioned,it does seem that these are pre-flu symptoms. Body ache, malaise, nauseating feeling and headache are almost always indicative of a viral infection / flu.

I suggest you to take complete bed rest.
Maintain good hydration by drinking plenty of water.

Though you have nausea, still make it a point to have food in small divided doses. Eat more fruits and salads.

Take paracetamol and analgesic tablets like ibuprofen for pain.

Check your temperature every 3 hourly and maintain a temperature chart and assess the progress of the symptoms.

You should be fine in 2-3 days.

If symptoms do not improve within 3 days, then you need to see a physician and get complete blood count, blood culture and other necessary investigations done to rule out causes like typhoid, urinary tract infection etc.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to consult me anytime for any doubts regarding the answer.

Thank you.

Wish you a speedy recovery.
