What Causes Lower Back Pain While On Advil?
Question: I have done something to myself. About a month ago after working outside for hours and taking care of my granddaughter I woke up the next day with pain in the left cheek of my butt it ran down my leg, like a pull with numbness down my leg. I have been to a chiropractor about twice a week, I have taken 1 Advil to get me going in the morning. Exercised to help my sciatica. The chiropractor took an x-ray and said my bones look good. I now have lower back pain and it goes down my leg when I sit. There is now more pain less numbness. I went last week to my family physician and she put me on a muscle relaxer. I am in no pain when I lay down at night and when I walk around. But when I sit the pain is pretty intense and when I go to stand up for about a minute then I can walk it out. Its been 5 weeks of this. What should I do next?
Brief Answer:
This usually resolves eventually! Current treatment is okay.
Detailed Answer:
HI,
Your symptoms are suggestive of a slipped disc that caused sciatica. The symptoms generally regress progressively and would resolve completely in due time. The main thing is to continue with exercise, normal activities and physical therapy. All would soon become normal. Probably, give yourself at least 3more weeks.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
