What Causes Lower Back Pain?
MRI would help confirm the diagnosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms and agree that they are due to disc disease and pinching of nerves in the lower back (lumbar region). The diagnosis can be confirmed by neurological examination, followed by MRI scan of lumbar spine.
As of now, you need to be on bed rest. Medications such as pregabalin or gabapentin capsules would be very helpful in relieving the nerve pain.
Depending on the MRI findings, epidural injections may be advised.
Surgery is needed in only about 10% of most severe cases, which do not get better with medications, physiotherapy and epidural injections.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
