
What Causes Lower Left Abdominal Pain While Having Diverticulitis And Diverticulosis?

Question: I have a history of diverticulitis and diverticulosis on my left side recently I have been up at the hospital like nine times with pain on my left side I've had two CT scans and several x-rays which shows nothing to be concerned about all my blood work comes back negative for infection and yet I'm losing weight I have a hard time going to the bathroom because I have to strain to get it out although it doesn't seem to be hard stool no one can figure out what is wrong with me please help. Would repeated rounds of Cipro and Flagyl cause a type of colitis that would cause this

You definitely should have colonoscopy done. Having diverticles in your sigmoid colon does not rule out large intestine tumor. Such tumor can cause mentioned by you symptoms and do not show up in mentioned tests (including CT).

You should also try Rifaximine treatment if nothing will be found in the colonoscopy.

I have had a colonascopy done in May this year and showed no tumors at all just residual diverticulitis and diverticulosis other than that I have no other problems I have been on repeated antibiotics for this unnecessarily I've been severely impacted to a constipated and the problem stemmed after that
