What Causes Lower Left Abdominal Pain?
See GP, precise other symptoms, simple pain killers for now
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
I am really sorry and understand how bothersome this could be. This type of pain is unlikely however to be directly related to the diverticulitis you had a long time ago.
It might however be interesting to get a bit more details with regards to this pain. For how long have you been experiencing it? How did it start? was it gradual, abrupt, does it remain constant or change in intensity? Do you experience any other symptoms like vomiting, loss of appetite, fever or diarrhea? All these might be very important for a proper evaluation.
It might be of interest to see your primary care doctor for a complete clinical review. In case it is so intense, the emergency physician might help. But if you have no fever, no vomiting, no tiredness nor vertigo, it might be very unlikely this require you to see an emergency physician. For now, I suggest simple analgesics like Acetaminophen. A complete clinical review from your doctor, simple blood tests and an abdominal ultrasound should be enough to make a proper diagnosis. Conditions like appendicitis, a gastrointestinal infection, urinary stones could often present as such.
I suggest you book an appoint with your GP. IN case you have specific questions, do not hesitate to ask as I shall be humbled to make my own contribution to your well-being.
Kind regards,
Dr Bain
