What Causes Lower Quadrant Pain When Diagnosed With Diverticulitis?

Question: In 2007 I woke up one morning feeling bad. I took my temperature and it read 101.6 no pain anywhere. I thought I might have the flu as flu was going around. I waited 2 weeks and finally went to a clinic where I was given an antibiotic. I took them for 4 days with absolutely no improvement, I complained to the clinic and on a Friday they gave me a proscrioption for a more powerful antibiotic, and took a blood sample. On Saturday they called and told me to go to an emergency rood as I had awhite cell count above 18,000. Short story I was diegnost as having Diverticulits and several week of cpifro interveniously and another powerful drug also intervenisly I was better enough to have sergeons remove about 6 inches of large intestines. Questions I never had any pain at all. Most people and doctors can't seem to believe I did not have any pain .why not

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
The classic picture of left lower quadrant pain may be absent in up to 30 percent of patients. This is especially common in elderly and patients taking corticosteroids.
So it still can fit the description of acute diverticulitis even though there was no pain.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
