What Causes Lump At The Base Of Skull, Dizziness And Sleeplessness?

Question: My husband has a lump on the leftside back of his head near the base of his skull. It is painful, he complains of dizziness, and is having problems staying awake. He had a neck injury years ago and has been sensitive to massage ever since I have known him. He has also appeared to be jaundiced at times. I found a knot in his upper left abdomen last year and after I pushed on it a bit he has had several days where he looks jaundiced. I am worried about him.

The symptoms are indeed suggestive of a mass.
