What Causes Lump On Tongue?
Upon more research i'm assuming this is an oral fibroma likely from his expander he had. It was just removed a few weeks ago which was when I noticed it. I think his orthodontist would have mentioned it if he was concerned.
Not really an urgent but needs evaluation and treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, elucidate history and the picture.-
To recapitulate: Male/9 - had expander - removed a few weeks ago which was when you noticed it - lump on tongue - pencil eraser sized - does not hurt ...
This looks more of a Granuloma (if due to irritation by something) , Papilloama (benign growth), fibroma not seen so early and do not project this much.
This is not very urgent but must be seen by Oral or ENT Surgeon, keep under watch whether this is regressing or not and if required to be excised and to be sent for histo-pathology examination.
There is no role of salt water.
