What Causes Lymph Node Swelling In The Armpit?

default
Posted on Wed, 28 Dec 2016
Question: I have a lymph gland under my left arm pit that swells but then goes down ...Aleve does help and it does this when I am in very cold air or wind. I suspected costochondritis at times since it does this over years. I had a chest x ray that just said arthritis. Could it be stress? Mom just died in Aug. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
We need to rule out any breast issues.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam and Thanks for the question.
The lymph gland problem should be examined by a Surgeon.
You should also examine your breasts for any lump or such things.
Or let your Surgeon examine to rule out any lesions in the breast,
I would advice for a Mammogram to evaluate your breasts and an Ultrasound of the axilla to know the status of the lymph nodes.
Do get these done and let me know.
Take care and do let me know if there are any queries on this issue.
