What Causes Menstrual Irregularities While On IUD Coil?
Question: I had my copper coil out on the 12th December last year I was in the middle of my cycle when I had it taken first period my cycle lenght qas 29 days was fine normal flow but this month has been totally different iv had like mixture of brown and red blood my cy le was 30 days what do you think is going on im very confused

Cu coil is a copper containning intra uterine devise used foe preventing conception.
Presence of this coil in uteru0s is a forgein article for our body , naturally there is a body responce in form of inflammation in uterus &in the fallopian tube inner lining.This naturally intetferes with normal menstrual cycle .
After Cu coil is removed this constant irritation is gone.. body tries to come back to it's normal. The time taken depends on the degree of uterine changes while cu coil was on.
Some side effects like cervical errosion with pelvic inflammation ( indicated by vaginal white discharge ,back ache,fever off &on) may cause prolonged menstrual irregularity .This needs dictor's advise &soecific treatment.
As you don't have any other symptoms... In my view .. it is a natural adjustment as a cause of the changes in menses flow you observe after Curemoval. It may take a few months (2-3) to resume normality.
* You are therefore advised to observe the pattern of periods for one more month. Mostly it should be normal by the time.If it does not..consult your gynecologist to find some other problem causing the symptoms
