What Causes Migraine And Dizziness?
Possible manifestations mentioned below
Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for posting the concern in the HCM.
The answer to all of your questions is yes.
Firstly, regarding the manifestation, I would say that migraine classically presents with throbbing or pulsatile headache (although non-throbbing pain occurs in 50% of the patients), initially unilateral, localized in frontotemporal (by the forehead and side of the head) and ocular (around eye) area, build up over 1-2 hrs and become diffuse. It can last for 4-72 hrs. (mostly more than 24 hrs). Nausea and vomiting are associated with the headache in more than half of the patients. Alongwith this, photophobia, blurring of vision, confusion, dizziness, visual disturbances like field defect, even complete blindness can occur. So, the answer to your first and second question is affirmative.
Secondly, the symptoms can subside in the evening, particularly in dark or low light environment. A silent dark room is the ideal place for rest of a patient with migraine headache. So, in daylight there would be aggravation of the symptoms and problems with photophobia.
Now that you have got your answer, I would suggest you to take the patient to a local neurologist, who would confirm the diagnosis and also specify the type of migraine and guide you with further treatment-management.
For any other query, please write back.
