What Causes Morning Headaches In Forehead And Nausea?
The only remedy I have found is a soluble vitamin pill with caffeine. It then clears and I feel fine
for the rest of the day. It has been going off and on for a few months. My wife is worried it may be a brain tumour.
Imaging is reasonable
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
Let me address first the brain tumor issue and say that shouldn't be the case, at least not a malignant tumor. Since the pain has been present for months it would have been progressing, increasing in intensity, not improved by that over the counter pain killer you take. Also would manifest other signs such as weakness in the limbs on one side, seizures, behavior changes etc.
The causes can be several. Sinusitis is a possible cause considering the location although usually associated with some nasal congestion and discharge.
Tension type headache is a very common cause of headache, a primary headache meaning with no identifiable cause. Not typically in the morning though.
On the tumor side there are some benign tumors, like meningioma, which grow very slowly for years.
While I don't think it is alarming, since you do not mention a previous history of headache, I believe a persistent new headache in someone your age invites diagnostic tests. For that reason I believe that head imaging by CT or even better MRI should be scheduled.
I remain at your disposal for further questions.
