What Causes Morning Sickness During 16th Week Of Pregnancy?

My wife is now 16 weeks pregnant. She is doing well but has some issues :-
1. When she prepares food for me it is ok but when she prepares for herself she got vomiting (from seeing dough etc).
2. Still she has mild nausea and vomiting . Is it ok to have in 16th week.
3. Vomiting occurs once in two days on an average and after she feels nause for another five six hours.
Can you please help in this regards.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr. XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting your query.
Morning sickness can continue well beyond the expected period into the last trimester as well. This is more so if she is pregnant for the first time. As such, the frequency of vomiting is not more and hence, needs not much worry.
If her sonogram, urinalysis, blood pressure and blood counts are normal, simple measures can help further management.
She can continue with doxylamine, if she has been taking it already. In addition, some dietary modifications also help. Small frequent meals, avoidance of fatty foods, fried food and fast food, increase of dry fruits in the menu, especially pistachio, improvement in the intake of fluids helps.
Enzymes and antacids may be taken if there is evidence of gastritis and indigestion. See that she avoids food which provokes her vomiting and instead switch to alternate nourishment.
Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to contact for further clarification. I will be happy to help.
regards,
