Brief Answer:
sign of infection or inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question.
Mucous from the rectum, whether it comes out with or without stool, is a sign that something is not going well in the colon.
It can be from an infection or parasites. It could also be from an inflammtory condition like inflammatory bowel disease.
The place to start is to see your doctor. They will want to do a rectal exam and then get stool samples to look for infection and parasites.
If all of that is normal they will want you to get a colonoscopy or other testing to determine the cause.
See your doctor soon so that this condition does not get worse.
Keep up the good work with your diet and exercise
