Brief Answer:
infection or inflammation in the bowel

Detailed Answer:
Hello, It sounds like you have some inflammation or infection in the bowel. Your doctor needs to do some testing on your stool to make sure you do not have an infection. You should add some probiotics to your diet and see your doctor as soon as possible.
Often after you have been in the hospital and had procedure done you are placed on some antibiotics and this kills off the normal bacteria in the gut. This can lead to infection and/or inflammation. The mucus is more concerning than the gas.
Add the probiotics, avoid dairy and see your doctor for some stool studies as soon as possible.
I hope you are feeling better very soon,
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
