What Causes Muscle Cramps In Legs Inspite Of Having Metoprolol?
Question: I have been taking metoprolol er 100 mg for three years. recently, at night when sleeping I've been getting severe muscle cramps in my legs. It's been happening now for a month. I've been taking potassium and magnesium, eating banana's etc. Doesn't seem to be helping. Muscles in my legs feel very tight. I read online that this drug can cause muscle cramps in your legs and that it constricts the veins in your legs. What will help me?
Brief Answer:
Need some investigations
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,
I would advise you to check serum potasium and calcium levels.
If you have lower extremity vessel disease metoprolol can worsen it, which sometimes can cause such symptoms, so I would advise you undergo also lower limb duplex ultrasound.
I hope I could help you
If you have further questions don't hesitate to ask
