default
Posted on Thu, 4 Dec 2014
Question: I am on doctor prescribed Serequel and Clonidine for alcohol withdrawal and insomnia, and I have been tapering off on both over the last couple of days. I have been experiencing some nausea and lightheadedness/brain fog side effects as a result, and I wanted to get your take on that,. I have been on Seroquel for about six weeks and Clonidine for about 2-34 weeks. Thanks in advance.

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern.

Light headedness , dizziness, dry mouth, constipation are the most common side effects associated with both Serequel and Clonidine.

I would advise you to discuss lowering the dose of the medications slowly in consult with your doctor.

If the symptoms persist Get your B.P checked, get your blood counts ,metabolic profile including Thyroid function ,blood sugar, urine R/E done in consult with your doctor to look for any other cause responsible for your symptoms.

Let me know if you have any query

wishing you best of health

thanks
