Little High BP While On Alcohol Withdrawal, Taking Xanax. Feel Dizzy, Tolerance Is High. What Next ?

hi im on day 4 of alcohol withdrawal and still don't feel right. im 62 years ld. female. a little high blood pressure.from drinking. I also take a lot of benzos to get high. my tolerance is very high to these. they are more a problem than the alcohol. they are not prescribed. I take them to get high. I took 10 mgs of Xanax today. and im still functioning believe it or not. I just feel pretty dizzy but ive felt that way for the past few days. I know I need help. the last time I went to the er this happened twice at two different hospitals they couldn't find a detox with a bed so they discharged me. I still cant believe a hospital would do that. now what. im not going through that again.

Hello,
You are 62 yrs old, having mild BP. You want to withdraw from alcoholism. If you have the will, and if you want to really stop alcohol and if you are taking alcohol only for sleep the Tab Xanax up to 1mg may be of use.
What you need is a de addiction. Get yourself admitted voluntarily.
Initially you will be treated for the ill effects of alcohol.
Then they may try antabuse and later they may show the reaction of alcohol with antabuse tab (challenging dose - life risking try)
Instead think about the complications of chronic alcoholism and its effect on liver. Living a life with cirrhosis liver is miserable. Considering all these facts you have stop alcohol abrubtly. Initial withdrawel symptoms can be tackled by mild sedation and your will power.
Best wishes
